Strength Deployment Inventory 2.0
“The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.”
George Bernard Shaw
A key component of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is Relationship Intelligence (RQ). Organizations with high RQ know how to build teams within which each member has learned to appreciate their co-workers’ unique motivational drivers as well as conflict response styles.
The Strength Deployment Inventory 2.0 (SDI), which was developed and refined by CoreStrengths, is based on applied research and is a very simple, easy-to-grasp discovery tool that helps leaders, managers and team members understand how to relate with others when 1) when everything is going well, and 2) when they are faced with conflict.
The SDI is taken online through a brief set of twenty (20) questions, with a choice of three sets of answers for each of the questions. We help to unpack the results to provide practical insights, effective strategies and crisp behavioral skills for more effective communication across all motivational drivers in a diverse group of people. This helps minimize unwarranted conflicts, and can actually drive innovation, problem solving and task completion.
The SDI has been one of our favorite tools over the last decades. We introduce it during most of our open-seating leadership programs, and also when working within organizations.
For intact teams, dynamic half-day trainings exclusively focused on the SDI are also popular. Individual as well as team profiles are reviewed and the experiential training based on these has immediate practical applicability. Participants can expect more precise communication patterns and conflict analysis skills, along with conflict management strategies.
